As a Warden/Referee I have called pauses due to content introduced by players in games once or twice as well.

got it. one example: I have been in a Ryuutama game where an X-Card got “tapped” by another player due to a character background getting too dark which was good.

Some of the best advice I ever heard was from @silviamg.bsky.social who said that you shouldn't set goals that require other people to do what you want. You can write a book. That's a goal. You can't control whether anyone buys it. Other people have free will.
