With digital media, I can't feel empathy; I can't understand the other person.

It's completely different for me interacting with the same person on the phone vs in person.

Isn't it ironic, that I work on the web and that's causing this internal disharmony in me?

an in-person social person. I am very poor with any digital social / messaging system.

I check my socials maybe once a day and might reply to people days later. I just don't feel the same connection.

Post-COVID, I also feel that social contact was not the same as before.

bringing up atproto and how-to-host-your-own-PDS and how-to-build-games-on-it and so on...

That seems to bother me.

Did I just grow up and lost interest in many things?
Is it because of work life (I work fully remotely)?
Did I lose a nerdy social group?

outward enthusiasm for technology. I still keep up for work and for some personal interest, but I no longer share it that much with others, especially my social group.

If I do, it's general things people talk about like AI/LLMs.

At the same time, I still did my nerdy stuff. I freelanced as a web developer in the early days of Wordpress and Google Ads and SEO.

In my adulthood I toggled between my psych and software career. The last 6 years were the longest stretch of being in software.
