I love Luke. Guys who are wrong give him crap because they can’t stand to see a scrawny pretty boy act his age and then eat humble pie as the main hero

To your first questions, I don’t think character flaws (like being annoying or impolite) are enough. My framework for “gray”: the character has selfish intentions at some points and selfless intentions at others. A lot of times a morally gray character becomes “good” when they atone for selfishness.

My answer to the last question is that a lot of people engage in black-and-white thinking despite the fact that those around them are more than either “good” or “bad”, and this certainly comes out in characters of fiction.

I also like the recipes that claim to take 30 minutes… after you chop about 10 different vegetables and herbs and carefully measure out about that many liquids and spices. 2 and a half hours later the dish is finally ready, and I’ve already filled up on the crackers I got out to snack on

Since I just saw Raising Arizona for the first time, this seems like another good first-time follow-up for more Nic Cage of that era (though I’m curious what you mean by “on what was thought was 10”)

I have a lot to be grateful for myself. In the present I can see many things around me that are results of both luck and hard work, and often I take those things for granted or focus on the negative, because brains are dumb and tend to do that if you don’t stop them.
