Very tall, very old, he/him. Brushing off the cobwebs to try to keep going.
I cannot find this story you said Steve Inskeep did, searching through NPR . org for all stories done by Steve Inskeep involving the text "comprehensive well-thought out plans," both with and without the hyphen. Could you link to it?

Hurting people won't change anything other than more people hurting. Learn from this lesson of the Trump Republican Party.

The Trump Republican Party always has someone new to blame.

The current definition of "woke" and/or "DEI" seems to be "helping other people," and the right wing media machine just got a boost from Public Broadcasting budget cuts, removing the alternative: NPR & PBS stations.

I'm just saying Republicans do good things once in awhile but without regularity. Frequently by accident.

The rest of the time they fight for evil.

Republicans are horrible people who would deny aid to their political opponents.

I am me. I wouldn't deny aid to a desperate person even if we disagreed on politics.

If nothing else, they might learn how not to deny aid to their political opponents. They can't all be sociopaths.

TIL of William Pennington, first Republican Speaker of the House, 1860-1861.

Signed his name to the Corwin Amendment, which would protect slavery in the US from being abolished by amending the Constitution.

Republican Speakers have been baddies from the beginning.

The obscenely ultrarich are looking for an escape route off the Earth they destroyed. Sending them to Mars may just be throwing them in their favorite briar patch.

Galt's Gulch always sounds great to the ultrarich.
