I don't doubt for a second that the CFP will get rid of access to the G5 moving forward so ND & other more "deserving" teams get in. They won't win either but ESPN & FOX will get higher ratings.. I'm so excited for that!! YAY!

Yes. I think a 12 team playoff is good. I like that teams like JMU & Tulane get in! JMU fans were great when I was there this year.

Are they better than JMU & Tulane, absolutely. Better than OU & Bama, probably. I just don't think this years ND team was elite & them missing the CFP is a big deal.

I forget who ran the numbers based on the metrics but the Championship team was always in the top 6, almost always top 4.

Granted this was mostly pre NIL so there was far less parity than today. Maybe moving forward it might be 8?

We will find out if a 7-12 team can win it all moving foward.

Notre Dame & Ohio State were ranked 5 & 6 by the CFP last year & I think that was the correct top 6. I'm fine with 12 teams or whatever, I just don't think getting past 6 is a real title contender. Maybe im wrong..

Also I think my view of elite is just different than hers.

I know Connelly has them sitting at 8. Are they better than Bama & OU.. I would be hard pressed to argue against that. I don't think that makes them elite. I really only think there are 4 true title contenders each year but will expand it to 6. The rest is just fluff.

Eh not really, beating a bunch of 2-4 win teams doesn't make them elite. They were good but I don't they had a legitimate title contender. None of the teams outside the top 6 really are. The rest is just fluff.
