IMO we can enjoy the day as it exists now as long as we don't gloss over the tragic history of the U.S. government and immigrants and the theft of native land and culture. I love Thanksgiving as it exists now - even if the origins are pretty much a myth.

Me too. Stuck with me for a long time. I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, but it's definitely compelling and upsetting in places, and hard to forget.
