I have two banker's boxes, plus a couple of others where cables got thrown in with other stuff.
And a chair that has been collecting cables, tools, and shoes (🤷🏼) for about 3 years.

I'm not even sure he chose those because they are comfortable; they look like some sort of influencer shoe.
But definitely agree with the principle, and suspect that is the reason most orthotic shoes come in black.

I found this article, which indicates people either used chamber pots (er, baskets) or went to the midden pile to releave themselves as far back as 7100 BCE.
Probably not old enough to count as "natural" for some people, but I'm definitely not giving up my indoor plumbing.
