Twitter refugee. Expat wombat and coconut farmer. Recovering media type. Don't blame me for the kakistocracy - I don't get to vote.
Yep. This. I'm in the lucky situation of affording retirement because double income, no kids, and no car (for the last 10 years anyway).

Tell Elmo that people aren't having kids because only billionaires like him who actively deprive their workers of the means to do so can afford them

I was going to say it's *everywhere* now, but a) I don't go everywhere, and b) it's probably not so big in places without advertising. I am, however, getting Black Friday ads from Australia, Thailand and Spain right now...

I've drafted her a response:

Dear Jim,

If you can explain why you choose to defend paedophiles, I'll willingly address your committee about how sovereign nations have their own laws, and why they're needed to defend our citizens against the harms of your unregulated social media behemoths.

With the Libs it was because science (and knowledge in general) were 'woke'. What's Labor's excuse?
November 18, 2025 at 7:10 AM
Ugh. Where's the beef Wellington when it's needed?

I mean, sure, the peace deal is breaking down, so it could have been Trump-brokered. But he basically just showed-up for the signing because he's so desperately needy and wants a Nobel peace prize like that black guy (who insulted him once) got...

Not an expert, but a stumpy-tailed or shingleback lizard (Tiliqua rugosa)?

PS: NVDA trades at 53x earnings right now, and it is minting cash.

TSLA at 300x? 🤪
November 8, 2025 at 2:41 AM
I think it's a cult.

Generally companies with higher multiples have higher expectations of future earnings. Think Nvidia in recent times.

I think Ai is a bubble but Nvidia is minting it right now.

Tesla's sales are going down. The shareholders think Elmo is some sort of god. I think they're crazy

It's a free market. People can pay what they want. To my mind it's a meme stock.

My approach is arguably why I'm not a millionaire - don't take this as investment advice!

Car companies tend to trade at low multiples - Toyota is at 9x earnings for instance.

Wouldn't touch TSLA with a bargepole

Unless it was made for John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, then no. If it was, then it may be just a little bit past its use-by date

Tesla *currently* trades at 300x earnings. That's ten times the Nasdaq long-run average, and five times the current frothy average. Sales are slumping - crap product and a Nazi boss will do that.

Tesla shareholders must be on Ketamine like their man.

Tell 'em they're dreamin'
November 8, 2025 at 2:02 AM
Prediction: Never going to happen
November 8, 2025 at 1:44 AM
Are Tesla shareholders on Ketamine too?
November 7, 2025 at 2:07 AM
He's PT Barnum.

Tesla's already *way* overvalued, has a history of announcing stuff it never delivers, and kills its own customers by treating them as crash-test dummies.

There's a sucker born every minute
November 7, 2025 at 1:56 AM
Not sure. Their 'policy' is to say 'anything but tax cuts for the wealthy is communism'. Americans are brought-up to believe that anybody can make it big (never mind all the evidence to the contrary). People vote as though they are millionaires, or at least just temporarily embarrassed millionaires
November 6, 2025 at 2:17 AM
I think the board approved it (Norwegian wealth fund notwithstanding). But he’d have to increase the value of the company by some stupid amount. It already trades at 300x earnings. It’s insane.
November 5, 2025 at 7:01 AM
Of all the things that aren't going to happen, Tesla's robot army and Musk's $1T pay package are not going to happen the most. Tesla is now a meme stock...when it pops, I may pop some champagne
November 5, 2025 at 5:42 AM
It's a tough choice, but I don't think I'd vote for that
