Thanks for the space! That's really nice of you :)

This year, I published Games for an Ordinary Life, a poetic art zine of short, sweet and dangerous minimalist games. You'll find solo, duo and group games about adventure, spending time together and living life.

I unfortunately have nothing to give right now but boosted and I'm curious about your phd now (I love hearing that stuff). It's great to know international game folks who are here.

Have a great time! I wish I could be there this year, but the essential balance of money & time isn't in my favor this year.

It's both a great story with strong voices, and I'm getting inspiration about ritual in roleplaying games through it to address in my own work and play - you have my deep admiration!

This is somehow a more true origin story than you'd think! My mom went into labor on my dad's gaming night - he got there and they were like, "your wife called, you should probably get home quick."

I come from an acting tradition that does a lot that crosses over here with creating thresholds and possibly sacred or spiritual containers for the work and considers the air as the essential medium by which actors and audience are in contact through atmosphere, so yes in a lot of ways!

Yeah! I think there's something we can do with the idea of drawing a circle and holding what's inside sacred to some extent, and that can deepen our experience and transmit something to an audience.

Now I'm suddenly holding a lot of inputs and inspiration on this (from other places too..).

Someone said, "TTRPGs are a kind of art ritual, and recording that ritual for others is kind of bringing them into the shared imaginative space."

I'm in a discord where folks are talking about theory and there's a bit of conversation around ttrpgs as art rituals. I do something like this stepping in for our rpg improv comedy stage shows - I work with a threshold and bring people into the world. I was really intrigued to how Luis does it!

I love how much of a ritual it is as well.
