This is one of the questions from today’s Q&A part in China server’s 11th Anniversary Live with FFXIV Mission Design Team: Q:Retsarra, who appears in patch 7.2’s Arcadia, is very popular among players. His eye shadow and nails are a vivid red, which really caught my attention. Among players, there’s even a joke that his girlfriend Eutrope painted them for him. Could you tell us the reason behind this design choice? Does this character have any hidden backstory? A:**Ms. Takayanagi:** This is something that may or may not be revealed… perhaps it’s a little secret between lovers~ (shows the second photo) The request we received was for a handsome character with blond hair and a blue-and-white color scheme, with the additional detail that he is Eutrope’s lover. So when designing Retsarra’s appearance, I thought: maybe his overall look was decided by Eutrope. Perhaps Retsarra himself doesn’t really care that much about his own appearance.
