I also don't think the general audience, especially abroad like me, know any particular reason to be drawn into knowing more of his private life. He doesn't have the well known intrigue that say Elvis (2022), Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), Rocket Man (2017) etc have that get people curious.

Very well put, it wanted to turn into a very cliche vampire ending, but also a racial abuse monster allegory and actually ending on a martyr-esque social/racial sacrifice completely unrelated to the vampire theme.

It had an interesting build up that was nicely shot and acted. The second half of the movie however, didn't work at all for me.
