Her thesis, “Variants of the Contact Process: Interface and Growth,” explores interacting particle systems, focusing on variants of the contact process — a mathematical model used to describe population dynamics. Many congratulations to Isabella on this outstanding achievement!

The first instantiation of their framework focuses on direct density estimation, while the second specialises in expedient sampling. Their two new methods achieve state of the art results in copula modelling, scaling to 1000+ dimensional distributions.

The aims are to develop statistical methodology and theory for modern data science problems arising from semi-supervised learning, missing data, differential privacy, causal inference and distributed learning, with a focus on robust methods for nonparametric and high-dimensional settings.
