Not even close to an accountant here, but I briefly went down this rabbit hole last week. For Nvidia to recognise the revenue under GAAP I believe the GPUs would need to both exist and be under the customer’s control? They can be held by Nvidia but, mustn’t be intermingled with Nvidia inventory.

I’ve been in tech since 2002. I cannot help but be incandescent with rage at the state of my industry now. We fought so fucking long and hard to shed the grift and bullshit out of the dotcom crash, to build meaningful things, but the last few years just makes me sick. An absolute garbage fire.
