So there’s no money to be made from encoding an oral (I.e. little is written down) language so the tech is never going to return results that might be meaningful in that language. Effectively it ignores whatever knowledge that might be part of that oral tradition.

Depending on the tech it can’t sense anything if it hasn’t got input sensors & a data set to train on. In a new scenario it might apply what it has coded. But as the initial training data set never covers everything it is always going to approach its new environment from the situated perspective.
