A vote is scheduled for a vote on the federal budget. That budget, as it now stands, contains funds for DHS and ICE. Those funds must be removed. If that results in another government shutdown, then so be it. We are facing a national emergency.

When I joined the Navy in 1957, at age 17, I willingly took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. I'm starting to wonder if I was the only military/naval person who took that oath.

It is extremely unfortunate that some Americans who took an oath to support and defend the Constitution seem to have forgotten that oath. I haven't and I know other enlisted people and junior officers who also respect that oath. Maybe senior officers take a different oath.

If the the folks in the White House and at Gestapo headquarters think that the good people of Minneapolis are alone in the struggle against the Nazis they sent to Minneapolis, they are very much mistaken. Perhaps they should read about the last days of Hitler's bunker.

In theory we Americans have a representative government. But it's hard to see where conservative Republicans in Congress or anyone in the White House is representing the country. Folks in Minneapolis, especially, are feeling the crushing heel of ICE, which has the government's enthusiastic backing.
