I'm a non-release rescue opossum, adopted from a wildlife rehabber. I love snuggles! I don't understand why humans are so mean to each other. Humans need to love, love, love. He/Him/They/Them🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ Bot DM=BLOCK! Opossum questions are okay.

This is Waffles' Mama - I want to let everyone know that even though I give out opossum info, I am not a vet, nor am I a licensed rehabber. I adopted two non-releases from a rehabber. All information given is learned either from our rehabber, vet, vet/rehab internet sources, &/or opossum daily life.
Eating scrambie eggs with a side of blueberries is exhausting! I fell asleep eating my last blueberry! 1st morning nap time!

Mama here! I wanna show y'all how big Waffles is now! He's about a year and a half old, and he has serious junk in his trunk! He isn't overweight -barely- but he is an extremely large male opossum! My hand is there for reference (sorry, all of our reference bananas have been munched by opossums). 😂

There's a special day called National Opossum Day! Some people say it is on October 17th and some say it's on October 18th. To me, that means we get two whole days! So, I've decided that since you can't give me any treats like Mama is, tell me your most interesting opossum fact or story! And GO! 💙

Since Dad is home today, Mama wanted to sweep and mop under their nightstands and their big bed. She needs Dad to move them for her. I don't like change and I don't like the smell of the opossum-safe mopping stuff, so I decided to take a nap under Mama's nightstand all day long! HA! Plan foiled! 😈

I need to write a quick update. Mama's surgery arms are slowly getting better, but now she's on her 17th day of COVID. She's high risk and took Paxlovid - which she hated, and she's ready to feel better. I had diarrhea for a while so Mama figured I probably got COVID from her. We can get it too. 😰

Mama is 2 days out from right arm surgery and she only gets one teensy corner of her king sized bed! Me, Nebula Pi, Pterodactyl the chicken, & Hayley Bear are all hogging her bed! 😂 Unfortunately, Pterodactyl isn't doing so well, so Mama and my sibling have been taking care of her. It's bad timing.

Mama is 2 days out from right arm surgery and she only gets one teensy corner of her king sized bed! Me, Nebula Pi, Pterodactyl the chicken, & Hayley Bear are all hogging her bed! 😂 Unfortunately, Pterodactyl isn't doing so well, so Mama and my sibling have been taking care of her. It's bad timing.

Mama said today is my Gotcha Day! One year ago today I came home from my rehabber's house to live with my furever family.Mama had to use a syringe with a special nipple and special formula to feed me and she rarely put me down!I'm so happy and lucky to be Mama's sweet boy!We love each other so much!

Okay... update time. I'm pretty annoyed at this, but I know Mama loves to rescue. That's why she adopted me right? So...Mama adopted a tiny house rooster named Freckles. He's a Mille Fleur d'Uccle. He's starting to get used to things around here and he's learning that he is definitely not the boss!

It's been so busy around here! Mama's birthday was last week, Dad went to California to visit my Grandma this week, and today is the last day of Pride Month, although we make sure Pride is celebrated at our house all year round. Sending love, snuggles, boops, and slubs to all of you! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤

At 10:53 pm CDT last night, my chicken sister, Chocolat (Sha-ko-la), a French black copper Marans, passed away. We brought her into my human sister's room yesterday afternoon, to be comfortable. We are already missing her very much. We are going to bury her soon. She was such a sweet girl.
