I treat these "explained what's going on" things as fan theories. The show was picked up for a second season and there may be more. I'm betting Vince Gilligan doesn't even know yet where this is going. Remember Jesse Pinkman was supposed to be a temporary character on Breaking Bad S1.

People say "too slow" and all I can think of is I enjoy watching scenes unfold that I don't understand YET because its significance will be revealed in a later episode. That's why I love what I've seen from Vince so far in previous shows and this show.
