I loved this book so much. When it ended, I just wanted to read it again. I swear that NEV-ER happens for me. The technical skill of the author is phenomenal. The way she fits all these different characters and Shakespeare's own words and plots together amazes me. (1/2)

practices that mean something to people. Finally, when I read, "Herbal remedies are not magic at all," I was done. In other reviews, people said she suggests burning belladonna with no warning. Terrible terrible terrible. I will never read anything by this author again. Money grab. [4/4]

these things very seriously. In the second chapter, the author moves on to crystals and her main introduction is along the lines of, "We don't really know if these crystals do anything, but at worst they can't harm you, so have fun!" Crystal healers exist and crystal magick is one of many [3/4]

just seven of them." I hate this sentence. It dismisses the ancient, cultural practice involving chakras and focuses on a "we" that uses seven. Who is "we" here? Young girls on social media looking for something fun to do without any real interest or dedication? There are practitioners who take[2/4]

This book is so surface level it's offensive. The author is obviously trying to cash in on the witchy aesthetic. The opening chapter is on chakras which are used in Buddhist (sometimes Hindu) practices. She writes, "There are thought to be over a hundred chakras, but we tend to focus on [1/4]

everything. My reading experience was simply unenjoyable. It took me nearly 3 months to finish reading. However, I think there is a lot of good information here and I would recommend it. #witchysky

I read this straight-through, but that may have been a mistake. It feels like purple reference. But I wanted to learn as much as I could. I just felt so bored... which makes sense. So many tips, section introductions, and details within spells themselves were useful to read, so I'm happy I read

bored, and by the end, I just wanted to be done. But there is a quote that stuck with me which is, "The Earth is more than its sorrows."

If the plot was described in a straight line, it would be so compact because of the many pages where nothing moves forward. Don't get me wrong, though. I prefer character-driven stories, but my issue here is that even character development moves forward incrementally. So I guess I'm saying I felt

I'm very intrigued by the idea of this book, but I struggle with the execution. What happens to the main character, Vern, and her abilities and her relationships are all so interesting. But then there are so many pages and chapters that feel repetitive. I wanted to know where we were going and when.

i'm thinking i will set my intentions during the day, like in my cooking and maybe do an early simmer pot with cleaning, and later with my friends i simply won't do anything expressly to"spiritual?" (2/3)

came down to. After about 60% of the way through, I was annoyed with pretty much everything that happened. I could see the end coming, and it did exactly what I expected. So much of this could have been executed better and gone in a different direction than tying it all up in a pretty bow.
