Am I going to harass or otherwise cause another creator grief through vitriol if they choose to pay for these products? No. I don't have the surplus energy for that kind of animosity in my life, and it would be misdirected anyways. Always aim for the top, not the person busking for food.

TL;DR I'm going to continue to stream SE games for the appreciation of the art and effort that went into them, but I will not be giving more money to SE until they've proven reliable again.

Do I think boycotts work? Not really. Do I think we should each pick and choose these battles? Yes.

I had to think about it long and hard. Ultimately SE doesn't get meaningful ad revenue from twitch (if any?), and I think that my personal refusal to finish the game would be more disrespectful for their hard work.

I'm going to continue to stream these games, but not for Square.

But laying off over 100 employees in the QA and Debugging teams in the same breath that you replace these underappreciated trench grunts with AI is a horrific look. I'm appalled.

But I don't want to leave these games unfinished. Leaving anything unfinished sears my soul a little.
