what's (python) pandas for, what better alternatives are there and why are they better? I barely used plugins when I took my python class and actually tried avoiding them because I guess I subconsciously feel like it's "cheating" (even if it really isn't)

I'm piqued on whatever this is from the name of the idea alone. I've always been interested in a story that follows a (by design) really weak protagonist
