Had a fun time at the wedding and got to dance in the cèilidh, which is so much fun and everyone should try it if they get the chance.
Wearing a kilt made with the MacGregor tartan. Tie in the same style. Green socks, jackets and waistcoat. White shirt and light brown shoes. The sopran holds my phone and other necessary items. The old yellow and green Glasgow bus in the background took us to the wedding venue. First time wearing a kilt. Hopefully not the last time.

The ender 3 build plate is known to be trash and mine is definitelynot an exception #3dprinting
The results page in Mainsail for bed mesh calibration. A red to blue gradient on the left shows the min and max probed results. To the right, in the middle, a 3d representation of the mesh is displayed with colours and contour matching the gradient. On the far right the results are spelled out. Most important number are: Max 0.301 mm Min -0.048 mm Range 0.350 mm The range is much more than a single layer height so that’s not ideal for a flat bottom surface

The loading bar after having run out of battery and restarting the MacBook it awfully designed. It’s a bit hard to tell in this picture with orange background, but on the left hand side there is a lot of space between the glassy outside bits of the loading bar and the white loading part. On the right there is just a cut-off end. The white and “glassy grey” parts end at the same time. Weirdly abrupt

~13 minute benchy on my ender 3 V2 (heavily modded)

Caucasian skin coloured PLA printed benchy on a golden smooth PEI sheet. The print has fuzzy strings all around and a long string off the top of the chimney. Overall the quality of the print is very decent.

This morning I tried to start printing some stuff and my Sovol zero seemed to have yet another lubricant issue. This time in the y axis. It’s really annoying that their assembly team seem to have missed a step here. Obviously had enough to pass QA. #3dprinting

Trying to learn cad with FreeCAD and even though it crashed a few times I managed to design a part for mounting the Sovol Zero tool head to the Frankenstein duct/Lh stinger mgn12h ender 3 v2 x axis carriage base plate. #3dprinting #freecad
The black, irregular shape with three brass heat set inserts was designed by me last night while trying to learn FreeCAD. It has four holes for screws to mount to the grey base plate seen below. In the background it the blue shroud of the Sovol Zero tool head and the extruder/hotend block is off to the right. The base plate and belt block attached to the black carrier part I designed all mounted to the tool head.

Sourdough discard crumpet with garlic herb butter and parmesan.
Homemade crumpet served with garlic and herb butter topped with grated Parmesan. Grilled in the oven to melt and combine. Served on a matte black plate. The crumpet is dark brown with plenty Maillard reaction going on for a savoury lunch!

Got this board manufactured with PCBA from JLCPCB and shipped here. It arrived today. I soldered on the JST-XH headers and tested out on my machine. Apart from the mainboard spinning the fan at 100% during boot the board works flawlessly! #electronics
Two black 5015 blower fans in an olive green plastic enclosure with the text nevermore micro V6 embossed on the right. Two red and black wires go from the fans to whites connectors on a small pcb. From there a slightly bigger 3-pin connector with three wires connector off the top of gram to the 3D printer main board.

In edit Home Screen mode, select the screen indicator, observe silly things. Here the icons for the apps are bunch up over the top of each screen. It’s a mess

I bought a spare Sovol Zero toolhead just in case I needed it in the future since it is very cheap from their official store US$70) and there are a few changes to the one that came installed.

Nothing major though.

New Sovol zero toolhead exposed. Sitting in the box it came in. Very well packaged. There’s a pcb at the top of the tool head. Note the silvery aluminium heat sink slightly obscured by wires. The original Sovol zero toolhead exposed on the printer. Note the exposed chips where the heat sink was on the other board.

You must hang on to the box of old unused cables at all costs!

One might come in handy when you least expect it.
An old RJ11 cable for a telephone modem was found in my old cables bin and it is perfect for use on this seconds hand Big Tree Tech Octopus Pro mainboard, which inexplicably has CANbus connection in this connector. The picture shows the mainboard on a silvery anti-static bag with the grey cable connected in the middle of the frame. My socked feet are also included out of focus at the bottom of the picture for no reason at all
