Yet sometimes I still get rejected in the HR stage because they "wanted someone with more experience in ArgoCD"... despite me being profficient in all the other technologies they are using, and ArgoCD was listed as a bonus point

I’m actively interviewing right now, and it’s hell, suffocating and exhausting. But once I admitted to myself that I’m more of a platform engineer than a software engineer, and reflected that on my CV, it's like I got into a different job market. My achievements don’t feel out of place anymore

I feel like companies have become so picky that your tech stack and "vibe" matter more than your intelligence or engineering instincts. The upside is that when you do fit with one, it usually turns into a genuinely strong mutual fit.

Yes, it's a bit of a blackpill to realize people can be so shallow, but on the other hand, you can just focus on what you can control. Your loved ones will still be your loved ones, and you can develop the intuition to see who is friendly bc you’re hot vs bc they like you as a person

Can confirm people treat you noticeably different when you are hot (I also got fit, but it's mostly the hair)

I mean I won't delete my BSKY because I have cool ppl on my feed, and I still like to keep up with UFOs. Maybe one day I can find balance and just not stay away from the internet so hard, but for now this is what works for me. After seeing the effects I'd rather err on the side of caution
