Writer and film history researcher focusing especially on the silent/pre-Code eras (and the overlooked faces within). I talk a lot about Jean Harlow.

Gonna pretend that hashtag works. The power of believing. Anyway, this particular Silver Screen issue is home to one of my favorite Jean Harlow covers.

I wish this was in color, because these Dolly Tree western ensembles worn by Tierney are absolutely tops (and are some of my favorite film outfits ever). Almost makes up for how boring the film is 😁 (it was the price of The Ox-Bow Incident, and it shows)…

I don’t really like making film into a social or numbers game but if I’m going anywhere after the Twitter shipwreck finally coasts to shore, it will probably be mostly here, my artisanal Letterboxd. No aesthetics. No custom posters. No insane lists. Just a good old-fashioned diary

I also need frames for some Gold Diggers of 1935 and Men With Wings artwork so those can go up too… soon….(there are always so many things to buy)

I have more sheet music than movie art up, but I have Stingaree (1934) and Dinner at Eight (1933) art in the bedroom/bathroom. I used to have a Red-Headed Woman lobby card, up, too, but the frame broke during a move and I’ve yet to find one to put it back up lol

Love this film for what it is. Gerald Mohr is the Bogartesque mug above, for anyone who cares. More important is Mamie’s outro:

This is some top-tier Lake to me because I love her role and I love her opposite Joel McCrea but I’m not sure I’d like the film without them. Sue meeee
