Morning Monday. Well I'm up to chapter 13, and considering that 14 is on the short side, I have serious hopes of finishing draft 4 before the visitors arrive. Yesterday was taken up mostly by the house not cleaning itself. Luna takes a dim view.

Hey Thursday. Still working on chapter 11, I'm afraid. Turns out I forgot to do a final read through of 9 and 10, so there was that. Good thing I did because I found a couple of rough spots that shouldn't have been there. Onward. Luna the Cat says "what?"

Good morning Monday. I've had a busy week working on Artefact (4th draft now up to chapter 11) and getting the house ready for the visit of my brother and sister-in-law next week. This week should be a little bit calmer, but we'll see. Luna the Cat says "that's mine."

What's up #FoodFriday? Just a couple of photos from the neighbourhood. The giant bottle of Coto Mayor is from La Mula Coja. They've switched to this rioja for the winter. The zamboriñas and mollejas are from Rincon de Lucas. The former are a variety of scallop, and I won't translate the latter.

Good morning Monday. Work on Artefact went on during a rather busy weekend, but at least chapter 3 is on its way. On another note, this is what we saw parked in front of the paint and body shop place around the corner. This is no fender-bender, we figure suicidal tree.

Good morning Monday. Work on Artefact continues apace, but the real news for last week was the painting of the guest room. The blank spot on the print on the wall is reflection from the window. What do you think?

Good morning morning. Spent most of the weekend on chapter 12 and making black rice for Sunday's dinner. of course it was half eaten and leftovers put away before one of us thought "crap, we didn't take a photo." So what you see below comes from La Mula Coja, it's not ours. Just to give you an idea.

Luna the Cat and her new box. Ain't it the truth.

Hey #TravelTuesday. Besides tiled floors, I really like fancy streetlamps. Here is a selection from Logroño, in the north of Spain. Note the preponderance of griffins.

Hello #TravelTuesday. Here are some photos from Logroño, where we were in April. An oddity, "Calle Cerrado" which means "closed street" or perhaps "locked street." And the cat colony, found in the park along the river.

Hello #TravelTuesday. A selection of buildings from Logroño, in the Rioja region. Not just good wine.

Hello #FoodFriday. Just a few shots from Logroño. Some are from the Marques de Murrieta winery, and a couple are strange things in windows. Really, chocolate sardines, who knew?

Hello #TravelTuesday. Going through photos from our trip last April. Here's the Marques de Murrieta winery outside Logroño in the Rioja region. Paul is pointing to the vintage from his birth year. They keep samples from every year they've been making wine. Don't think they'll run out any time soon.

Ooops Found some more #FoodFriday photos. You can't go to San Sebastián/Donostia without going to a sidreria.
July 25, 2025 at 5:51 AM
Hey #FoodFriday. I may have posted some of these before but to round up my photos of San Sebastián/Donostia here are some food shots from a pretty good Mexican restaurant. Specifically margaritas and tacos.

Hello #TravelTuesday. These are the last photos from San Sebastián/Donostia. Kind of random, mostly stores (especially the hat store), and places to eat. Check out the '50s dress shop. Also, odd to find a restaurant called Don Quijote so far north.

Good morning #TravelTuesday. Every great city needs a plaza. It's not called the Plaza Mayor, but here's the one in San Sebastián/Donostia.

Hello #TravelTuesday. Some beautiful buildings in San Sebastián/Donostia. I particularly like the shot of the fishermen's cottages across the water. I'll bet there aren't any fishermen living there now.

Looks like I'm doing #WanderingWednesday again this week. These photos of the beach in San Sebastián show how you get from the walkway to the sand, and some of the cool buildings along the way. Imagine, most of these buildings were once private homes. I want the one with the turrets.

I missed #TravelTuesday yesterday so I thought I'd do wandering Wednesday. Here are a few shots of the beach in San Sebastien/Donostia. You know, for you beach types.

Good morning Monday. A good weekend sorting out Artefact so I can start the 3rd draft. I was hoping not to have to do much, but I have some ideas . . . and we all know what that means. In the meantime, here is a photo of a neighbourhood cat at her favourite rat hole.

Good morning #FoodFriday. Here are a few tapas from our latest wanderings around town. Meatballs, prawns and salmorejo.

Good morning Monday. A great weekend in which I finished the rough edits of the second draft of the pirate story - still no title. Luna the Cat was impressed. Surprised, but impressed.

Hey Saturday. Forgot to do #FoodFriday yesterday (forgot it was Friday) so here are a few photos from our trip to Bilbao. Cheese store window full of parmesan, scallops in artichoke sauce, and skewer of shrimp.
May 31, 2025 at 7:55 AM
Hello #TravelTuesday. These are more shots of Bilbao. The first is our attempt to show one side of the staircase in our hotel. As you can see, there is an identical staircase on the other side. And then some plazas.
