Yeah I can imagine, the old school shell is iconic, I personally dig the well "boxy" look of the boxypixel kit. Maybe get a second Ipod for keep in a classic shell and use your current one for the boxypixel kit?

Speaking of I did order that boxypixel kit! mostly cuz the frontplate of my 5th gen is suffering some very deep cosmetic damage, and the back isnt looking too great anymore either

hell you dont even need the ipad pro, I'm pretty sure even the regular ipads have apple pencil support, and there are even a couple of android tablets that have a pressure sensitive stylus.
if you wanna go even cheaper they can use said PC with a pc drawing tablet
