If we cant afford to grieve, this talk of traveling to space & embracing an age of advanced tech is a moot point. We are back at square one. The fact that we fear being eaten by the machine for taking a single day off work, even without the presence of leopards, affirms my suspicions of this.

Im actually working on an essay that explores the idea that the affordability of grief is actually an indication of 'advanced civilization' & that now that it is literally unaffordable, it's an indication we are living in a strictly animal survival mode & that our society has 'regressed.'

The internet COULD have been a place where we become enlightened.

The Age of Information.

Instead, algorithms gave us feedback loops of our opinions. Telling us what we wanted to hear & giving us more confidence in disinformation than ever.

Throwing us into a full-blown crisis of ignorance. 🧵
