To be completely fair the one woman I knew doing horrible shit was certainly a doozy but she was more of a groupie than a creator.

If you spent ANY TIME in comic shops and comic book making spaces all I have to say is be DEEPLY FUCKING SUSPICIOUS of any man working in comics. like guilty until proven otherwise. I love comics and it's a treasure trove of horrible people, mostly men, being fucking awful all the time.

Also the number of free programs buried in red tape is astounding. Like husband got his entire education paid for, for free, because of a program no one knows exist and therefore no one ever uses. There's so much stuff like that, how is anyone supposed to find it?
