never put more than 75% effort into a single page. Save the major background for the establishing shot and imply the rest through gradients, color blurs if you have to.
If a background doesn't add anything you couldn't tell the story without, you might not need one. several jobs for one person!

They do offer a video of a demo on the Steam site for it. But I concur-a lot of games like this don't quite live up to the hype. I bought a copy, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I love the look and feel of the Final Fantasy games. And they have really sincere and loyal fans like yourself, which makes me want to play them. And then release the weird, grindy, poorly thought through stuff like what you're describing. It's gotta break hearts being subjected to that.

I totally get that. I think as long as it isn't forced on the players it's probably okay. The feeling I've gotten from sandbox stuff is that the freedom to choose is the most important thing. Which Final Fantasy do you play?

I mean, I installed a really cool fishing mod into Skyrim years back that was kind of fun (you could find junk when you fished sometimes. But I concur with making any of those things a requirement for game play. Games shouldn't be reality simulators.

And I can absolutely confirm- an online search is not as versatile. It's the equivalent of asking someone to describe what's on a book shelf from memory, versus going to look yourself. Terrible way to search for anything.

I've used Goodreads since about 2017 pretty reliably. I find it motivates me, but it took years of habit to get there. I think one of the reasons it succeeded was that it initially posted what I finished to other social media and that opened up discussions on reading with friends- which was fun.

I was just reading about this, and someone mentioned that the AI can apparently be turned off? I'd really love an alternative to Goodreads. Any suggestions based on your own search?
