In honor of Godzilla Day (a day late oops) here are some pics from one of my favorite assignments.
Last year @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social held a marathon of the famed monster’s movies for its 75th anniversary, so I took the excuse to merge work with one of my favorite nerdy interests (link below).

Federal agents fired pepper balls after detaining two people in Albany Park Friday morning as the immigration blitz in Chicago continued through Halloween.

I’ve seen this misconception/question come up several times, so I’m just going to clarify specifically:
DHS/ICE/CBP are not staying overnight at Naval Station Great Lakes (which we have been reporting since August).
They are using it for all of this ⬇️

ICE responded two days after I asked for a statement on Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle making county property “ICE free zones.”
I’m not sure they know who SHE (a cis woman in her position for 15 years + 19 on Chi City Council) is.
They use “he” and “his” so it’s not a spelling error.

A truck with more fence pieces has arrived, and looks like ISP is waving them around to the 25th Ave entrance. They have yet to move from here though.

They’re just roving around harassing different groups of protesters make racist jokes and asking people what they think of “illegals.” ISP agents are standing by just sorta watching.
Some iron workers from the nearby union building came to heckle them back, workers are getting a good laugh.

IDOT closing the small gap in the concrete barriers that existed to retain the sidewalk on one side of 25th. Previously was just blocked with the yellow caution sign seen below.
