Say hello to these beautiful new friends. Mom and calf will be staying with us on the croft and hill grazings for the summer. They're Shetland Cows, a bonny breed as you can see. 🌱☘️🌸🌼🌿🐄🌿☘️🐄🌱🌼

What's my 5 year #croft business plan? cuddle Cows and sing songs to them.

This business stands with trans people, human rights are for everyone, and can never be at the expense of any other group of people. We believe that this week's supreme court ruling sets equality rights back decades for men, women, cis, & trans. This is a safe space for all people. Thankyou. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

Sorry don't know how to add captions on blue-sky. It's basically me, apologising for not posting much 'content', and pointing out stuff in the studio in my annoying voice. Blah blah.

Here's my AI free action figure me thingy.

Context, Folks are using AI slop to make their own action figure images, so real humans and human artists are countering this with human made versions. This is mine.

Gorgeous to come home to spring sunshine, and a Happy flock.

Missed our home landscape while we were away, being witness to changing seasons and these hills is in my blood since I arrived here in childhood. We call these snows the lambing snows.

A victorious croft day. Finally fired up the 'new' rotavator. Brutal on the steep slopes. Kept getting fangled with brambles & bracken, It kept running away when it was supposed to stop! But the soil is lovely, & all the dead bracken is now mulched in.

sneaky reveal of this project here, it's a gift, but the recipients aren't on b'sky. I started quilting last year & it's addictive hyperfixation of the moment. All upcycled scraps. Hopefully I'll have time to make ourselves one before the hyper fixation shuts down. #adhd #quilting #patchwork

A cracking day. Went exploring the grazings above the croft towards "Black Mares Rock", some curious old walls which curved right up into the hill, and what I'm pretty sure was a crude old man-made shelter under a crag. Great views and not too boggy as it was still icy up there.

Thankyou to everyone who supported us this week.
...for the cards, messages, and those who shared stories about my Dads life. We are grateful to all who attended his funeral & helped out.

While it's been a sad and difficult time, it has been lovely to spend time with family and all come together❤️

So good to see some sunshine after a long winter. Much needed at the moment too. My Dad climbed this hill 297 times. I think 2 of those times I was there. One Easter Sunday with my siblings and once with my eldest when they were around 13yrs. He asked to be buried facing it, which we'll do.

This has been a long, exhausting 2 days, no time to grieve with a funeral to organise. Grateful for all the messages and reaching out people are doing. Grateful to be able to sit with sibs & SIL to work through Dad's life story today. Hard to summarise such a full life.

My father passed in the early hours of Monday after living with dementia for sometime. He lived a full life despite early obstacles, climbed every hill in Scotland, our local hill 297 times! He worked on many engineering projects "climbed it!" "built it!". His boyish humour remained until the last.

Relationships with old places need work & intentionality.Yesterday working the croft, each dig with a spade connected with ground worked for generations.Today spring cleaning the studio,200+ yr old blacksmiths, turning up rusty tools, soot from the forge. It's an honour the ghosts won't let me forget

Tree planting mission continues on croft.Ideally I'dve got fencing first then wouldn't have had to work so hard carrying tubes & stakes uphill, but fencers are elusive. native woodland going on top slope, orchard etc at bottom.some magnificent grandmother trees on site, but deer eat anything smaller
