I was going to say, this assumes there are only finitely many thought out there, which there are not, but the upper bound on the number of characters in a single post implies finitely many possible posts?

(I normally use the US Senators quiz to gauge how obsessively I've been following US politics recently. I can name ~75 to 80 current senators. That number is high, but it's been higher.)

It's sad that this number (64) is so small (compared with 2,018 of them ever) but I suppose it's an indication of some kind of social progress that so many of them have served in the last 20-30 years? I remember reading about 1992 being significant for female senators: www.senate.gov/artandhistor...

I guess it gives me a way of posting “me” without literally posting “me”?

Fair. That’s just one feature of a profile though. If everything else looks obviously authentic then I’d probably think they’re just an AI enthusiast.

Asked it to take me and style it in the style of Kingdom Hearts (love the series). Had to tell it to not use clothing in the style of KH; keep it the same.
Also tried asking ChatGPT to take one of the images and reverse it (make it look realistic again). The result made me lol.

Eg I’m generally hesitant to post pictures of myself publicly online, but I’m not sure I mind posting these AI’d ones of me as I consider whether I’d want to use them?

Yeah. I knew that light pollution was a thing, but *seeing* lack of it firsthand is a different experience

Sometime a couple of years ago we went out to the middle of nowhere in West Virginia. Got a cabin to stay in. I looked up at the sky and saw just how clearly visible all the stars were. Made me realize just how much potential stargazing we’re missing by living in an urban area.

I went walking down the beach on a weekday when very few people were around. Standing there and peering into the vastness that is the Atlantic Ocean is indeed meditative.

This makes a lot of sense to me. I feel like I’ve seen projects fail (some I’ve been involved in) because of too much premature optimization against technical debt.
It’s not that debt itself is inherently good, just that lack of some in the early stages can be a warning sign

So you’re suggesting that tech debt in building a new product is “good” insomuch as not having it would have delayed the launch of that product? Lack of that debt implying that too much time was spent perfecting the product?

Okay yes @mauriceh.bsky.social would use a very similar graphic for Multiprocessor Synchronization and in his slides
