I’m happy to pay it too. I just think it’s odd to be encouraging people to electric and to tax it before enough people have made the transition. This is particularly tough on those people who have to use public charges which are considerably more expensive than those who can charge at home.

📍A 17-month, 5% VAT cut for hospitality to save pubs, restaurants and cafés, revitalise our high streets and cut costs for customers.
📍The scrapping of the Family Farm Tax, which would be a devastating blow to local family farms and shows a worrying lack of understanding of rural communities.

Though to be fair there was an indication that further work is already agreed to be happening in the House of Lords in remaining stages

Sadly, the clause wasn’t selected for a vote last night, despite strong cross-party support. But the mission to curb junk-food advertising aimed at young people continues. I’ll keep fighting for this important change.

As I have replied to all those who have written I will not be in London on Thursday. I have prior meetings elsewhere. I am acutely aware of the issues with our climate and will work with colleagues to hold govt to account

I have explained the process above. There won’t be a vote.

See above. There will not be a vote unless someone speaks against and that doesn’t typically happen for 10mrb

It’s a 10 min rule bill - that’s not something that will have a vote. He will bring in the motion and it will go into the system. No one else can speak on it, unless they are speaking against which I clearly will not be doing
November 23, 2025 at 11:24 AM
For clarity this is not the subject of a parliamentary vote coming up.

After the announcement of an appeal in Canford I have already prepared a Q to follow on from those I asked last yr about the future of incineration in waste plans. It should get published Tuesday

It’s a very different situation when the result is to destroy farms. Farm equipment is v expensive & this threshold will easily be reached even by small farms
