As an IT professional, this is a popular misconception. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an advocate for generative AI, but the primary use case of LLMs is to be an information dispenser packaged in a program that simulates human communication. OpenAI is particularly a bit fucky though

I love this way more than I should

I'm really surprised ChatGPT didn't do this. Kinda curious what model it was or if she custom programmed it to do this. Probably one of its worst features if I'm honest, and that's saying something because there's a lot of bad features.

Seen a lot of suffering and death and wishes for death because of this.

I just read the article and spent 5 straight minutes laughing. Here's a summary:
- Two not-fully-mentally-developed texan rednecks wanted to recruit homeless people and train them to raid and coup an island home to 90,000 people. They got caught and their lawyer is the bird from Futurama.

That's always been the purpose. It was created by "libertarians" who think laws, regulations, and transaction tracking are for suckas.

I'll take it a step further and say that privacy, while important for everyone, is typically only a top 3 issue for people who have something to hide.

Ah yeah. Words like these were specifically controlled by religious authorities to help compound their fabricated ideals which they used to control people. The more opaque and undefined the enemy is, the easier it is to turn "satan" into anything.

This may be technically true in the context of historical etymology, but the meaning of a word isn't the same as its historical meaning. These words have been synonymous in non-technical English for centuries due to the proliferation of anglicized Christianity.

Pop!_OS and Ubuntu are fantastic headache-free distros if you just want a clean transition to a stress-free experience. I've been using Ubuntu 24 LTS for almost a year as my daily driver and it's been great. If you're a writer, you'll love the compose key

Stress sells. Roll through a poor town and you'll see it everywhere. Early paychecks, booze shops, sex shops, and convenience stores. Get all your stress and all your relief all in the same place. US culture is very casually predatory.

I built my PC in 2020 out of parts accumulated over 4 years. It's a monster of a machine. When Windows 10 EOL was drawing too near for comfort, I switched it to Linux. I kept its random system name, though. B1-BUEHE has served me well for almost 6 years. Still feels brand new for all my loving care.

Misinformation, distraction, outrage, the instinct to always be violent even when someone does something good just because they're on the wrong side.

These create this ideal environment that the undistracted, unconcerned, uncomplaining billionaires use to cement us ALL in the systems of oppression.

What's the difference between a chronically oppressed leftist and a chronically oppressed rightist?

If you act the same you are the same. It doesn't matter if the labels and subject matter are different. You can be on the correct side and still be contributing to the problems.
