Twitch Streamer, Tabletop RPG DM and Player, Dilenttante of many feilds. I also write moderately awful scifi. Painfully British.

Bloke, male pronouns are fine.
Funny thing is, this probably isn't even going to land well with their own audience.

Got a conservative older guy in one of my groups, and exposure to the entire LGBTQ+ spectrum of the rest of the table seems to have mellowed him out hard.

He's still a bit of a dick, but he's not a bigot.

If it works for you, test all the hardware you need including printers & scanners, install to the computer's main drive - replacing windows - and you should be good. Well, bar logging into all your websites ect.

Libre Office will be your go to office suite, resembles MS Office with an older UI.

Any modern Linux distro should suit your needs in that case.

Get an external drive, or internal if you have a desktop and are confident with a screwdriver, make a backup of any files you want to ensure you keep onto that external drive and then disconnect it.

Make an install usb, test it out...

Linux Mint is my go to alternative OS, but it's a good idea to have a look at what you use your computer for first and see if there's any software you MUST have before switching.

It's fairly hard to mess up Linux these days, and can usually be run right off of a USB drive to test it out first.

But more than that he ensured that copies of the truth of what had happened made it out into the world, warning of threats outside their reality that had once loomed over the world - and how they had been thwarted before.

The Undying Mad Mage of the Astral Sea.

He ended the campaign in a lighthouse in the astral sea, stocked as a library with books gathered spiraling up the structure, his mind fading into madness.

As the rest of the party aged out and died he became a legend, surrounded by the tales of their deeds together.

Course, with the boon of planar travel and having been to the astral sea he had a loophole - so after their victory as his long life began catching up to him he fled to a place where time could not touch him.

But his mind could only last so long there, eaten away by the passage of years.
