It's because neither Gakpo OR Salah fit in to that process, though I suppose Salah fits in it more as he could play the right sided striker.
I don't want to go back because that means we'll see Gakpo starting more matches until we get a better left inside forward 😭

It felt good, to be honest. A very good response from Ibou after recent weeks. He needs to keep it up, though.
Hopefully this is a trend that sticks that we can start to develop a functioning attack on top of. 😭

I could see us sticking to this 4-4-2/4-4-2 diamond since it's pretty similar in a lot of ways to our Klopp v1 4-3-3 anyway, since Bobby would often drop as a false 9.
Here's hoping we can rebuild towards the high energy & high pressing again.

If we're playing like this and not trying to shift the balance towards attack, without going gung-ho, in the coming months then I'll be more worried. Right now we need to stop conceding and rebuild some confidence and resilience.
We'd have to go through a period like this with a new manager too.

I can understand being frustrated with this season but I've not had a big issue with the subs in the last few matches besides Sunderland. Today we subbed a RB&ST for a RB&AM - we looked like we would have happily rode out for a 0-0, so I wouldn't say we threw the kitchen sink today at all.

Given how terrible we have been, I don't expect things to suddenly be good. Besides our implosion in the last 20 minutes against Leeds, we have been very solid defensively at the least. We've also been spectacularly disjointed in attack, but you gotta relearn to walk before you run.

I don't think the attackers have been the focus the past week tbh. Slot has clearly changed things up to try and stop the rot. The plan tonight was to man-mark and limit Inter space in our half, and we did that very effectively. Still a bit janky in defensive transition, mind.

I felt we had a much clearer direction tonight, but agree there doesn't seem to be a clear 'big picture' plan. At least - yet.
