I’m a network security engineer in the CIP/ICS space with a deep interest in CAN bus vulnerabilities. I spend a lot of time giving respect. I practice Tsundoku religiously.

Imagine a situation where a #hostile country deploys a strategic #cyberattack by starting with chaos: deploy thousands of burner phones in the most populated cities highways via rogue eSIMs, loaded with payload. Send maligned packets to the CAN BUS' of all vehicles in proximity...
How dare Discover Card send me a bill on Christmas Day!! Jesus was born in a manger and they want $40???? Absolute madness!!

I think my expectations of #humanity are confirmed. Even on #socialmedia, I'm alone. #Cancer killed my parents, mom recently. Christmas, Easter, Thanksgivings, birthdays are spent alone now. so I reach out to SOCIAL media and... crickets. I've never felt so out of place. Well, #merrychristmas anyway

The countdown by days is in effect. UK bound or bust

Let's be clear, the US, UK, Stralians, French, etc... are also doing the same. You tell me the sky is blue, I will most certainly point out that it is perspective in where you live and what time of day it is. Verify first, trust no one.... #nationalsecurity #cybersecurity #threatassessment

If you like paywalls, here is one for you. Good topic, sloppy public disclosure.

It's time for Davi's "Hey, did YOU know??"

The average auto vehicle has more #code that an F-35? More than a 777. CAN Bus and ICS (MODBUS, etc) isn't a pretty or flashy #cybersecurity theatre to play in. It takes dedication to studying without injecting ego. You wont win a prize, you'll save lives.

The #automotive #technology arena really is behind, and it followers in the footsteps of #ICS #cybersecurity. Researcher, Craig Smith (taken from SANS white paper author Roderick Currie) states.......

Hmm, whats the possibility that this is a propaganda pyramid scheme. Putin has something on Trump, then Trump has something on Kennedy and Gabbard, and the scheme goes on and on. The USA got what it deserves, really. Vote stupidly, get stupid results. The USA is quite compromised by foreign actors.

ICYI: newer #automobiles, some #industrial controls, medical devices, marine, and heavy equipment uses the CAN message based multi-master fieldbus. It controls all of this via a two wire control system. It doesn’t have IP addresses, sessions, packets, or ports. It has identifiers and… next

During the pandemic, China promised more vaccine support to Guatemala if they left Taiwan as an alley and grouped up with Beijing. #China is relentless in pressuring countries, specifically in Latin countries, to delegitimize Taipei. Bravo, Beijing. You’ve mastered the art of the bully.

I often wonder if the public at large know how vulnerable their shiny new cars are. Now imagine an army of hacked eSIMs in burner phones travelling on heavily populated highways, ready to deploy #malware to access the CAN bus of cars in proximity. Sounds like a good book.

Spending time on “X” lately… could easily see yeeting that shit to the moon and beyond. Maybe put it in the boot of that Tesla and initiate a self destruct sequence. Why do #infosec people stay? I think it’s ego. Followers, hear me roar.

Why are SSH keys better than passwords for authentication under #Linux ??

Because trying to brute-force a good SSH key is like trying to find a specific grain of sand on all the world's beaches... while blindfolded... and the beaches are on different planets 😂

I just played on stage with Victor Wooten and his brothers tonight. Holy hell, that was nerve wracking. As my solo came up, he’s like “y’all need Moore bass?” Lolol everybody needs more bass!

ohhhhhh my. Ran a #openscap report on my #wsl2 instance. I have a score of 72%... I am failing over 50 items, and remediation is going to suck eggs.... I wish there was a control to mass remediate these...

OK so yo #Linux in #WSL2 fans.... do you disable interop? I'd love the extra protection and I hate pivots... so do you or nay?
Any ramifications to doing this like anything Windows would need to interoperate?

I have a 2nd interview with this “faith-based” medical MSP on Monday. I told them I’ve got earrings and tattoos on the 1st interview. The HR person told me she had three tattoos but I never mentioned that I am gay. None of anyone’s business but I can’t start if they are homophobic. My nerves are up

This is the best quote EVER.
“THESE are the times that try men’s souls: The summer
soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink
from the service of his country; but he that stands it now,
deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like
hell, is not easily conquered”

I absolutely had to get a reading of what people are thinking as to what the best consumer grade antivirus is. Oh my. Just oh my.

Just saw a video of a General saying “his boys” can take a pounding. Hmm, as a Navy veteran, I can confirm.

Well, my instructor is forcing me to go to bass camp again at Victor Wootens place. I have hang ups. Mostly confidence. But I’ll go again. It’ll be good to see him and his wife again. I enjoy it but whew. I almost said fuck it and not go.

Happy birthday to me. It happens only once a year.

I'll be honest, I am eating bourbon chicken hibachi. I let out a resounding bit of flatulence. The two smells collided and I thought it was a nice touch. Not bad, if I say so myself. Offended on hearing this or the honesty in which it was bestowed? Get a life, loosen up. Jokes are essential.
