p.s. I'm not just picking on journalists -- this is also true of mainstream K-12 education, higher ed, & much of civil society. They hide the perpetrators, or launder them, & they try to ignore what drives inequity & harm on lots of dimensions.

Anything implicating privileged groups is minimized.
