I should introduce myself. I’m Victoria Park. I’m an iOS engineer at PayPal. Before coding, I was a part time piano teacher for 20+ years and mom to two boys. I love music, vegan food, reading and looking at pretty things. I have a strong interest in learning disabilities, how we learn in general

This was one of my favorite concerts. I had never heard guitar effect like that that kind of provided warm blanket over the ukulele sound. The hall was small enough, acoustics great and audience was slightly tipsy and fun but respectful. He created an atmosphere almost like friends reunion

Got fatigued from tutoring math, so I indulged myself by reading about late Joseon Dynasty in Korea. Embarrassingly, interest was sparked by kdrama based on webtoon about time traveling chef. beneath all the strange customs, I don’t think ppl change much

After working with my younger son with Comprehend-Reading app, I found something so obvious that is really jarring. I have vocabulary inference problems, but no context so student would have to search the word in text. I added the phrase in the question and also highlighted the word in reading text

First time I tried taking my son to this store by myself in a while and it was a success. (Last time we had a wrestling match next to all the candies at checkout) used my Simple Visual List app. I do have to let him put what he wants in cart. Starburst is nice because unwrapping takes some time.

Some students struggle identifying the main idea of a reading passage. Some people’s brains are wired better for more in depth details and they may find this task challenging. There are strategies, but it is more challenging for some. They should be proud of strengths while working on weaknesses

While I was out with my older son, on an outing he chose based on a clearly recognizable photo, I realized something. To most of us, going to beach is going to beach and we r mostly cool w everything that goes w it. For ppl like my son, they may mostly enjoy one part conditionally.

It was really gratifying to see my son do something he normally has hard time with - going to a place that has restaurants he likes but not eating. Gave him choice of activities w simple choice board (made in 15 min) and then my visual schedule app and he did great. Not guarantee but helps.

My Simple Visual List iOS app was approved. I made it because a lot of apps were too busy for my kid. It’s free. I made something I need for my son in less than a day and shipped it. I think I like this rhythm of short simple with long term projects. apps.apple.com/us/app/simpl...

I wrote a short blog entry about my new custom quiz feature on Comprehend-Reading. I am almost as excited about writing these blogs as I am about writing the apps. I also appended video of the feature on the video tutorials. www.comprehend-reading.com/blog/beyond-...

My new update for Comprehend-Reading was finally approved. I still have many things I want to fix on it. This update was expanding beyond basics. There are few flaws that I realized after submissions I’ll fix before working on MacOS version. With my son, I use Xcode/sim on Mac.

I also use the vidual shopping app for schedule. I just used free icon from photo library for daily schedule icon and added enlarged photo view on click. Phones are more practical and less conspicuous for adults who have some experience with AAC and zooming feature is helpful to me when pics unclear

Ok my extremely rigorous testing is done lol. Now for the app icon and the whole process of submitting new app I always forget how to do. Decided to keep it simple and just made top icon a bit bigger. Didn’t know NavigationView creates Split View in iPad by default.

Outing #3 with my 30 min coded visual schedule w my older son. He does really well when he knows exactly what to expect ahead of time. Knowing that he will get better chocolate at end, he was able to resist reaching for cookies at counter, pass by another chocolate place

Stevie a day makes life better. Before classical music, I fell in love w Stevie Wonder. i love some of his chord progressions. I like to try to pick out chords my ear. My classical ear had trouble w F# chord over G# but I love the crunchiness of it.

Well, caregiver didn’t show because he can’t find his keys. Going to take son shopping alone. Wish me luck. I found really embarrassing errors with longer text handling here lol. It’s been a while since I did much with UI.

I haven't touched an app that has subscription for ages, am trying to release a minor change and noticed that I get error 23 when RevenueCat is fetching the product offerings. I went to AppStoreConnect and updated my paid apps agreement. Still error, m assuming propagation lag? Is this the issue?

I vibe coded a small visual shopping list app that I needed for outings with my non-verbal older son. Less than 30 min. I think parents can do this even without training but gotchas are things like how to debug errors, weird signing errors you get and just understanding enough to make adjustments.

I was in bed and I heard my non-verbal son making tonal siren like sound. I realized he was imitating singing practice I was doing w my younger son for audition for musical theatre part. I went and gave him a hug and he laughed. It touches me that he wanted to be included.

i started this book that was mentioned to me by online bookclub member a while back after doing some pre-calculus review with my younger son. It made me laugh. And pentatonix song in my ears.

I found out yesterday that there is piano version, not sure if by composer himself or others. but listening, it just cannot capture beauty of this singer’s performance. It’s amazing to compare old recordings, how artists continue to improve even after fame youtu.be/Eu1edd9zw0s?...

My younger son wanted a ukelele, got it for him. He told me 3 days later he didn’t like the way it sounded. I told him u liked it when guy demoed it. I told him he can’t give up when things get hard. His strums r sounding more melodious and I feel happier. He’s a funny guy, such happy strumming

I wonder if this young girl knows some woman listened to this on loop at gym. Not perfect yet but her singing is so beautiful. I tried saint saens - Anastasia song mash up on piano - was fun but corny lol. www.instagram.com/reel/DMqUgHj...

I've really been enjoying playing along with a jazz pianist (Wynton Kelly), well the easier parts, in his performances with his trio. What is the best tool to isolate and control 0 - 100% of a single instrument? Is this possible and if yes, what is the best tool? Has anyone tried this?
