I don't understand why she thinks this is so complicated. I was brought up in England to the sound of my father bellowing: Put your slippers on! And I don't think our family was weird, in that respect at least.

And it is not a special case, in France if you commit an offence or a crime you lose your voting rights. 5 years for an offence, 10 for a crime.

Also since it applies to everyone. If you are found guilty of an offence like embezzlement of 4 million euros, you lose your right to vote for 5 years. 10 years for a crime.
