The American Robin is a common North American thrush. This was another one that checked out our crab apple tree. It seemed off, though, and I wondered if it had an injured wing. I think that he actually may have been missing or had an impaired leg.

A few Snow geese are accompanying this flock of migrating Canada geese. The only time that I have seen Snow geese in the Chequamegon Bay is during fall migration. 🪶

It was a wonderful day for fall hiking at Amnicon Falls State Park in NW Wisconsin today. Sunbeams accompanied the river water flowing over the basalt rocks.

When we got to the property line in the woods today, Finlay stayed on this side of the fence, but did a thorough sweep of the countryside with his nose and eyes. He had to settle for a roll in wet leaves, as the snow has melted.

A small flock of American Robins , (Turdus migratorius), passed through this morning and took an interest in the mini crab apples in my yard. I believe these robins were migrating, but some stay in NW Wisconsin year round.
