We took the Thermo Bigfoot Cell Sorter for a spin at CRG in Barcelona. We were impressed by the accuracy of sorted large cells(hepatocytes) into a 384-well plate using the straight-down plate sorting option.

Big thanks to Oscar Fornas for hosting us at CRG.

In a recent study from the Da Cruz Lab @cbdresearch.bsky.social, Jens Rummens et al. used image-based FACS on the S8 to distinguish cells with or without TDP-43 aggregates. @vibflowcore-lv.bsky.social

In a true collaborative effort between the @vibflowcore-lv.bsky.social, Borstel Flow Core, VIB Metabolomics Core, and Cellular Highways, bacteria-infected macrophages were sorted at 97% purity on the Highway1, and the output analyzed using imaging cytometry.
