Oh, I am so ready. I'll even get out my own copy.

"Cosmetic blemishes"? I'm sorry, but it looks like someone tried to sand down one of the chips on mine. I'm assuming microchips are coated for a reason. Certainly wouldn't call it "durable" by any stretch. And yes, @retrobitgaming.bsky.social, I've put in a support ticket with @limitedrungames.com.

My copy is screwed up as well. Seriously! This is ridiculous! @limitedrungames.com I've already submitted a ticket, but I'm definitely not happy here.

Sometimes the best use of an Ultimate is for movement. At least, that's what I'm telling myself. #MarvelRivals

This should NOT have worked.

So, my internet decided to crap out on me tonight. Channeled my energy and frustration into something a bit more constructive.

18. Chrono Trigger. Never got to play this as a kid, but, I played the game on my DS. Holy crap this game is incredible! And the music is fantastic. Where's the HD-2D remake Square-Enix?

17. 100% Orange Juice. If you think Mario Party or Mario Kart are chaotic, try this on for size. Just wait for a Steam sale, it always gets cheaper, and the dlc as well.

16. Touhou 8 - Imperishable Night. Not the first one I played, but one I've returned to the most. Also the first I unlocked the Extra Stage for. The whole series is just something I adore, between the characters, the music, and the the lore (fanworks included).

15. Team Fortress 2. If Terraria's 1,400 hours was insane, this one is lunatic. 2,400+ hours, and yet I haven't touched the game since 2018. Still, I have fond, fond memories of playing this game (Demoman easily was my favorite class to play). Speaking of Lunatic, this leads me to my next game....

14. Terraria. I've definitely poured over 1,500 hours into this game in both vanilla and modded. I love Minecraft, don't get me wrong, but this game is definitely one I'll go back to far, far more often. I started way back when Hardmode was but a pipe dream.

13. The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. While not the first Zelda game I've played, this was the first overhead 2d Zelda game I completed. It's what really got me into the series. Of the two linked (heh) games, this one was my preferred one to play.
November 23, 2024 at 3:15 PM
12. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. The ending of this one made me cry at a game for the first time. If Azure Dreams got me into the genre, this and Red Rescue Team cemented it as one of my favorite genres of games. (I'll get to taking about Explorers of Sky/Darkness/Time later, I swear)

11. Azure Dreams (PS1). My first foray into Mystery Dungeon styled game play, and what hooked me onto the genre. One part Mystery Dungeon, one part town builder, and one part dating sim. Honestly, the later was more silly than anything. In any case, this leads me into the next game.

10. Pokemon Pinball. The first game I got with my Gameboy Color as a kid. Played this one all the time. Always preferred the Blue Field.
November 11, 2024 at 2:22 AM
9. Kirby Super Star. Okay, anyone who knows me knows I'm a Kirby fan. And yes, I love this one. It was the first game I got off of ebay years ago. Honestly, out of all the games in here, it's The Great Cave Offensive that was my favorite one to play through.

8. Track & Field. The sole game that's the cause of my left hand's twitch. Also the sole NES game my dad would play. He was an ace at Skeet Shooting, and button mashing. He once beat me and my sister despite us abusing a turbo controller.

7. Thunderground (Atari 2600). Okay, this one is special. This was perhaps my late father's favorite video game. I used to watch my dad play this one as a little kid all the time. It's as simple as most Atari games, but it holds a special place in my heart. This leads me into the next one.

6. Pokemon Trading Card Game. Never had a chance to play the TCG against others, so this was my only outlet for that back as a kid. I love this game so much. Really sad the sequel never reached the West. I've played the fan translation at least.

5. The Adventurers of Bayou Billy. Again, not one I'd recommend for everyone. Exceedingly tough since Konami made the Western release more difficult. If you can, play the Famicom version, Mad City. Much more forgiving.

(As an aside, if I forget the alt text, all the supplied images are boxart.)

Time Lord. Okay, this is one I wouldn't recommend unless you enjoy bad side scrollers. The controls can be janky, and good luck with the boss of the Western stage, that one's a damage sponge. Still, it's got music composed by David Wise, so it gets some props.

3. Mega Man 3. I flip between this and 2 on which of the NES games are my favorite. I love the music from both though.
November 10, 2024 at 6:14 PM
2. Wonderboy III: The Dragon's Trap. Cheating a bit here because I play the TG-16 version Dragon's Curse on Virtual Console. That said, this version, the TG-16 version, and the beautiful remake are all enjoyable.
