This is a common piece of writing advice I don't agree with.

Nothing throws me out of a story faster than overuse of the word said. It's not invisible, it leaps out at me.

I hate turning a page and only said has been used as then I'm just paying attention to story architecture instead of content.

It's funny how conditioned it can get, isn't it?
