4/ The bit that bothers me the most is his annoyance that social scientists won't speculate with him about "AI civilization" or whatever. My man, these refusals are *good*. Off-the-cuff remarks from authority figures influences policy, funding, and public anxiety. Caution was the right move.

3/ He also says if he is not able to extract much out of these conversations despite putting in a week's worth of prep, there's no way you could possibly do better.

Because of course, there's no way you can notice things that he hasn't noticed during the conversations.

2/ He then goes on to say lots of AI labs are closed off, BUT, if you follow the rumors and *think hard enough*, your takes might just be better than the people running these companies.

Sure, Demis Hassabis has DeepMind, etc. but you too can get there if you vibe hard enough with second hand info.

1/ Right off the bat, he compares himself to Federer and says some of his guests are… a wall. Wild way to talk about people whose work your whole show depends on.
