Pretty sure I follow half of those purchasers on here.

The problem with the 25A is that (as always) the drafters assumed good faith and a desire to serve the public from the people who need to pull the trigger. Even if the cabinet liked Vance, those sycophants would never trigger the provision.

he's trying to create a cult of personality around himself, similar to the way you see other tin pot dictators put their images EVERYWHERE.

this goes for pasta too. We oversauce EVERYTHING in this country. It was a real revelation when I moved to italy and actually began enjoying sauce on things because it wasn't drowning everything.

Virtue signaling is good, actually.

Ugh. I constantly have to remind myself that "aioli" is just an obnoxious name for mayo, because I have accidentally ended up with it on more than one sandwich.

(the only place I will tolerate mayo is a small amount mixed in with tuna fish)

Bonus: I no longer have the tweets, but the first time I posted about this on twitter and actually called out inskeep, he had a fucking meltdown in my mentions so, you know, professional! At the time I had maybe 500 followers.

I love a lot of what NPR (and more specifically various affiliates) do, and wish I could donate during this time of funding cuts, but unless and until they fix this specific problem, I cannot give them a dime.

Legit wrote an entire letter to my local affiliate about the problem. https://bsky.app/profile/very-simple.com/post/3lfiky5c6he23
Actually went back and found the email I wrote, November 2016.

I’m actually a big fan of putting technocrats in charge of agencies that require technocratic competence to run.

I constantly tell people that NYC is the absolutely best place to age in place. Everything is deliverable, including home health care, some of the best hospitals in the world, and you don't need to drive anywhere. Plus all the culture stuff!

...not explicitly partisan, but forcing geographic diversity would somewhat break up the east coast boarding school-to-yale fedsoc pipeline.

(Like, Gorsuch is extremely conservative, but his weird and good understanding of native rights comes from his time in a western state)

I have some theories about 'fair' reform that would involve a court size that matches the number of circuits and a requirement that each 'seat' be drawn from the circuit it is assigned to...

do they think the little sign on the door threatening a fine if you switch cars is going to deter the 'bad people'? Because I've got some news for them.
December 9, 2025 at 2:13 PM
...this is a main reason why GWB pushed for immigration reform. He saw catholic/religious latinos in particular as a natural republican constituency if the republicans could stop being so fucking racist about them.
December 9, 2025 at 2:08 PM
Yep. Just as with latinos who are varied and different, there's at least a substantial subset who, due to their life circumstances and religiosity would be naturally Republicans, but for the Republicans' constant vilification of them as criminals and worse.

Jamie Dimond* gets this, I don’t understand why others don’t.

*to be clear, Jamie Dimond is terrible and the fact that he gets it is, like, the lowest bar on earth to get over.
December 9, 2025 at 10:45 AM
To be fair, he is very, very pretty.
