To break away from foreign digital dependency that has been ‘weaponised against us’, the EU needs to ease off over regulating its tech industry to encourage innovation. It is problematic that EU Tech Chief only sees this as a hardware / microchip issue.

Trump deICEing Minnesota isn’t a win for street protests. It’s simply a necessary move to pander to the NRA who ultimately pull the donor strings. This administration doesn't care about lives, only polls and payouts. #minnesota #ICE

While all eyes are on Trump’s geopolitical anctics in Davos, with Greenland, Venezuela and Iran ..this is a good opportunity for @jamestalarico.bsky.social to convert some Texas christian republican voters to swing Democrat.
The Trump administration’s immigration crackdown is revealing divisions among the nation’s Christian leaders about appropriate religious responses to ICE’s most aggressive enforcement tactics.
Christians divided over how and whether to protest ICE operations
Religious leaders struggle over whether to protest ICE or simply to support immigrants who are targeted.

We do not need another organisation filled with suited men with dubious intentions all far removed from the problems on the ground .. we need to fix the problems with existing organisations. Fix the problems at the UN .. give countries from the global south bigger say with issues that impact them.

Trump and his henchmen may dominate the week at Davos with their shock value geopolitical antics but the real leader to watch will be China and how it will position itself as the new more reliable, rule-based trading partner for Europe.
EU leaders take stage in Davos as Trump rocks global order.

Podcasts and sermons aren't policy. @jamestalarico.bsky.social, your silence on Greenland is deafening. A future Senator is required to address global threats, not hide from them. Show some backbone and stand against annexation. Issue a clear statement.

The US Constitution was never the safeguard we believed it to be. It failed to prevent authoritarianism because of one fatal, built-in flaw: excessive executive power. It wasn't just a crack in the foundation; it was the Achilles’ heel of the entire system.

Machado’s symbolic gesture presenting her Peace Prize to Trump is undignified considering he had dismissed her as the rightful replacement for Maduro.

Two core points: Gemini is accelerating its market share of OpenAi though more innovative features and better user privacy. Second: US government is too deeply invested in the success of OpenAi through strategic partnership (especially at the DoD) that it will not let OpenAi fall behind. Thoughts?

Trump pardoned former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking while pushing to unseat Venezuela’s Maduro on the same grounds. One case framed as a Biden witchhunt, the other justified by the US unilaterally linking regional cartels to Maduro. Inconsistencies are a political liability!

"The question isn’t whether Democrats can make edgier jokes, but whether they can tell a more compelling story about who they are and what they’re fighting for—without setting their values on fire along the way. Is that really so much to ask?"
