It is only ‘not really how it works’ if people continue to work for firms they don’t want to work for because whatever. Am not suggesting protest quitting. If when you look in the mirror each morning, decide if you are working for the right place. If the answer is no, start taking steps to leave.

Agree. But a positive about at will employment is that every day and decide if you want to continue working for your employers. Some tech companies no longer deserve the talent they have.
