From personal experience this is a huge tell for narcissists. Whenever they are envious or jealous it lives rent free in their head and eats at them incessantly.

That would be amazing. These wealth hoarders are already spoiled. It'd be nice if someone (anyone) could tell them NO once in their lives. They're the kids that take the the whole bowl that has a sign that reads Please Take One on the front porch at Halloween. Just self-centered self-serving brats.

And when I needed it I'm beyond grateful it was there for me. If I had ungodly billions of $$ I wouldn't give it to the government to cover for what they should have fixed. But I'd find a way to be helpful to the hungry in a way that the government couldn't just pocket my contributions.

Exactly. I mean I never thought I'd find myself in a position to need the assistance but life doesn't always care about your plans. Being able to feed myself shouldn't be some luxury. It's an imperative biological function. I worked FT for 2 decades & never once minded my taxes being used for this.

Yeah I just read a few articles. Supposedly they'll follow the judges' orders & use the $5 Billion fund but it'll only cover ½ & might still be delayed. They say they "don't have" the remaining $4 Billion to cover the rest & all I can think is y'all found $40 Billion to help Argentina.

So far the Propel app is still saying the same thing. I haven't heard anything about the Wednesday possibility yet. I'll go look into it now though.

sales/markdowns for everything. I'm buying healthy food so it doesn't go far. I live off of canned tuna and marked down ground turkey. Fresh/frozen veg & fruit. Rice, lentils, & beans. Oats & adult cereal. Yogurt, butter, eggs, & soy/oat milk. I splurge for good bread there's no healthy cheap bread.

All those people crying about people with food stamps buying steaks and stuff isn't like a legitimate thing. I mean I might if a cheap top sirloin ends up in the reduced for quick sale section but anyone who is buying top dollar cuts is going to run out of funds quick. It's pretty much store brand

Mine isn't even close to that. $292 a month. Divided by 30 that's $9.73 a day or $68.13 a week. There's some variables in there because not every month is 30 days, and all but 1 are a little over 4 weeks, but you get the idea. We aren't eating lavishly.

Not just Illinois. I'm in KY and getting emails saying mine are likely not coming in November and I'm not exactly sure what the effing hell I'm going to do. I mean there are some pantries but I feel like those are going to get hit so hard there won't be enough to go around.
