Did any @latimes.com editors register the irony of promoting steak when the beef industry contributed to the wildfires that burned down parts of the city last year? @hayleysmith.bsky.social @defnekarabatur.bsky.social

(1/2) Because @telegraph.co.uk restaurant critic William Sitwell had a bad experience with a #vegan activist, he is "rejoicing in the downfall of this moralizing craze" in a 900-word hatchet job on vegans. @lauradonnelly.bsky.social @proveguk.bsky.social @petauk.bsky.social @vivacharity.bsky.social

This @dailymail.co.uk headline suggests that pork is just as healthy as legumes, according to new study. Only readers who get to the 22nd paragraph will learn that the small sample size (36 participants) and short duration (8 weeks) limit the validity of the research.

Even if Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) could somehow effectively process the billions of pounds of toxic feces that they now, in essence, dump into our waterways, that wouldn't change the fact that the factory-farmed meat they produce is unhealthy and the product of animal cruelty.
January 21, 2026 at 4:40 PM
This @dailymail.co.uk headline is irrelevant to the story (link below) and contains false information about #veganism and #plantbased milks, the consumption of which does not "secretly harm our IQ."

In a sobering 5,700 word article about the decline in popularity of veganism, @nymag.com writer @rtsugar.bsky.social understates the primary cause.

Veganuary is a "piece of cake." Thanks to @theguardian.com for providing readers with sound advice on how to make the switch to a #plantbased diet easy, fun and delicious.

Restaurants and diners may pay a high price for steak, but that cost pales in comparison to the price paid by cows and the planet. @wsj.com - In your future coverage of meat prices, please note that 1.) cows pay for our steaks with their lives.

A @nytopinion.nytimes.com columnist argues that RFK's dietary guidelines are "very sensible" despite the fact that they place beef, dairy and other animal products at the top of the food pyramid and downplay the importance of #plantbased protein.

In an article celebrating "Pasadena Cheeseburger Week,"
@nbcla.com reports that "kind-hearted" diners are supporting the city's restaurants because the pandemic and wildfires took a toll on their business. #NBCLA - Did your editorial team miss the irony of this story? cc: @unchainedtv.bsky.social

As if posting a video of a squid being disemboweled for clicks isn't egregious and greedy enough, @ladbible.bsky.social has the audacity to claim she was "caught humanely." #Unilad and #LADbible - Do you have any standards? #AnimalCruelty

Thanks to @sleasca.bsky.social of @foodandwine.com for reporting on the environmental benefits and "meatlike flavor" of #plantbased mycoprotein. @ashnday.bsky.social @katkinsman.bsky.social

In an @theatlantic.com essay, staff writer @yeahyeahyasmin.bsky.social argues that the current #protein craze coupled with the Trump-inspired fixation on masculinity have reduced consumer interest in #plantbased eating, but this observation belies what's happening in the culinary world.

In a 650 word story about high steak prices, @nytimes.com makes no mention of the exorbitant cost of producing it to the planet. Cattle are the world's biggest agricultural source of greenhouse gases, and 60% - 70% of Amazon deforestation is attributed to cattle ranching. @carolynryan.bsky.social

The headline of this #ABCNews story indicates that high fat #dairy lowers dementia risk, but only people who read to the end will learn that findings are unproven. If ABC News is going to report on this "observational study" at all, then shouldn't they note proven health risks of dairy consumption?
December 23, 2025 at 6:16 PM
While this @the-independent.com article makes a compelling case for raising children on a #plantbased diet, readers who don't get past the headline and the lead will be left with the impression that it's a bad idea. And that's bad for our health, the planet & the animals. @chloehubbard.bsky.social
December 19, 2025 at 9:34 PM
In a 750 word feature story celebrating "pork roll" burgers,
@laist.com fails to mention that "cured, smoked" pig products are, like cigarettes, a class 1 carcinogen (according to WHO). @gabchabran.bsky.social - if you're going to promote processed meat, shouldn't you warn readers of health risks?
December 18, 2025 at 9:02 PM
In a display of immaturity, crudeness, laziness and clickbait greed, @unilad.com.web.brid.gy posted a graphic video of people slicing open a #cow and captioned it with "Here's me playing with my meat." @ladbible.bsky.social - In this post, you've found another way to make a buck off their misery.
December 17, 2025 at 4:54 PM
By stating that #plantbased burgers are "more processed than a regular beef burger," @fox5dc.com.web.brid.gy is, perhaps inadvertently, spreading meat industry propaganda. Most beef burgers are heavily processed. They contain preservatives, binders, fillers and/or other artificial ingredients.
