Having to only clear the memory cards twice instead of thrice was a much needed change. It's early game that just becomes absolutely hellish because you're fishing for lucky charms that either stall or steamroll the deadlines on X2 debt.

Funneling the run to a few charms is killing the fun.

For me this was a big variety year with a lot of games that slipped through the cracks that I wanna go back & play once the year wraps up like:

Kingdoms of the Dump, Demonschool, HYPERBEAT, Pipistrello, Captain Blood, Deliver at All Costs, Atomfall, Keep Driving, Dead Letter Dept. & The Roottrees

Copper Odyssey’s another highlight in the RPG Maker scene, all about recovering a print studio’s stolen art supplies. The whole game is a turn based RPG, but the artwork is based on the art of printmaking. The works are wonderfully creative & lively to admire.

The sequel is also worth shouting out.

I’ll vouch for 8:11, one of those RPG Maker games that stuck in my head ever since I’ve played it. Freaky as hell, bright & colorful to contrast the bleak narrative & compelling characters that you get heavily invested in.
